When you introduce something new to the world, expect to be asked a lot of questions. Then, write them down, because it’s very likely lots of other people have the same questions! And that’s exactly what we’ve done in today’s blog post: a breakdown of the seven most frequently asked questions about our smart industrial thermostat, ENASTAT.
1. What makes it an industrial thermostat?
ENASTAT was redesigned from the ground up to withstand the elements and the wear and tear of high touch, high traffic areas. For starters, the “faceless” design is made of a thick, overmolded plastic with no screen or protruding knobs, buttons or levers. Its sealed design also protects it from contaminants such as dust or debris. Finally, it’s splash resistant and capable of withstanding extreme temperatures. To sum up: ENASTAT can take a beating and keep on heating.
2. How is it controlled?
ENASTAT is controlled via the ENA app. You can access it via any Android or iOS device from anywhere in the world. There’s a local reset but no temperature, schedule or zone control via the thermostat to prevent tampering.
3. What happens if I’m unavailable (or lose my phone) and the temperature needs adjusting?
If you lose your phone, you can access your account on any device that’s connected to the internet. And if you’re concerned about being the only person with control, we have good news: you can share control permission with others via the ENA app.
4. How reliable is the Wi-Fi connection?
Think about the thermostat as if it were any mobile device; if there’s a strong network present, it’ll join with no issues. However, if spotty Wi-Fi is a persistent issue, you’ll want the ENASTAT Gen 2 which comes with LTE capabilities for cellular control.
5. Does it sense temperature AND humidity?
Yes it does! Additionally, if you want to use the device merely as another sensor node in your space, you can use the additional inputs to drive the HVAC system’s operation.
6. Do you support 2-wire low voltage systems? What about high voltage?
Yes and yes. We support most 2-wire low voltage heaters. Just plug them into R and W terminals. ENASAT Gen 2 is compatible with high voltage heating and cooling systems. If you ever have questions about installation or compatibility, you can always talk to our technical support team!
7. How many do I need?
First, you’ll want to make sure you have at least one thermostat per heater or AC unit. From there, you can decide if you want to add additional thermostats as sensor nodes to join any groups or zones you set up in the ENA app.
There you have it! If you didn’t see your question on this list, don’t fret. We have live chat support on our website Monday-Friday, so drop us a line and we’d be happy to help. Happy heating and cooling!
